The Hon’ble Prime Minister launched the National Skill Development Mission (NSDM – known henceforth as, the Mission) on July 15th, 2015. The Mission will provide the overall institutional framework to rapidly implement and scale up skill development efforts across India. The vision, objectives and design of the Mission draw upon lessons learnt from the implementation of skill development efforts over the past decade. It seeks to provide institutional capacity to train approximately 403 million people by the year 2022.Skill development is listed as an activity under Schedule VII of Section 135 of the Companies Affairs Act, 2013.
